MUMBAI: Director of upcoming Bollywood flick Raees had rejected reports regarding replacement of Pakistani actress Mahira Khan in the film.

An Indian news website stated that that Ritesh Sidwani said that he could not understood where the rumours were circulating from.

He added that he shot the film with Mahira Khan for 45 days and the shooting of the flick has already been complete.

Sidhwani said, “I do not understand where all this is coming from. I would only say one thing – I have shot with the girl for 45 days and finished the film.”

He also disclosed the reasons as to why he was not commenting on the earlier reports regarding Mahira Khan’s replacement.

“I was not reacting to such reports or commenting because I feel that when someone speculates something and you go and respond to it, you are providing a platform to such speculations and rumours. I feel it is better to ignore such things,” Sidhwani said.

Earlier, Indian media reports claiming that Mahira Khan has been dropped from Shahrukh Khan-starrer Raees.

It should be noted that extremist parties in India had warned that they will not allow Raees to be released peacefully unless all of Mahira Khan’s scene from the flick are omitted from the flick.

Raees — which stars Shah Rukh Khan, Mahira Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead roles — is set to release on 26th January 2017.

The plot of the film circles around a bootlegger (Shah Rukh Khan) whose business is being challenged by a police officer (Nawazuddin Siddiqui).
