The minister walked out of the tribunal’s office confidently, with a smile brimming over his face.

In his word with the media, Rafique said that the tribunal announced its verdict on the basis of results of only seven polling stations.

“Even if the votes polled at these polling stations are counted in favor of the rival candidate, there will be no difference made to his triumph from the constituency,” he claimed.

“Election tribunal punished me and the voters for the deeds of presiding officers,” lamented Rafique.

He added that for nearly two years PTI members defamed us, while the honorable judge wrote that Hamid Khan – PTI candidate from the constituency – failed in substantiating irregularities.

The tribunal recommended no punishment for me, said the minister.

Moreover, he said that there was no need of a judicial commission and it was similar to conspiring to put a question mark on the democratic system of the country.
