Railway colony residents protest water shortages since two months

LAHORE: Residents of Railway Colony here have launched a protest against the unavailability of water in their area since the last two-and-half months, ARY News reported. 

It may be mentioned that the area falls within the constituency of NA-122 which is currently held by Speaker of National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.

The residents blocked the main road and set tyres on fire to register their protest.The protestors said that there has been a shortage of water supply since more than two months which has caused great inconvenience to residents of the area, and they have not received even a single drop of water since the last four days.

They urged the government for the immediate provision of water, so that they could return to normal lives as they also face problems during the ongoing month of Ramazan. They vowed to continue their protest until the provision of their basic civic right.
