Rains force PPP to cancel jalsa in Garhi Khuda Bux

LARKANA: Heavy rains in Larkana and nearby districts have forced the Pakistan People’s Party organizers to call off scheduled public gathering to mark the 36th death anniversary of PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on Saturday, ARY News reported.

According to PPP spokesperson, the public gathering has been postponed while a low-scale ceremony will be held at Naudero House, which will be attended by PPP provincial and National Assembly parliamentarians as well as Senators.

Local PPP leaders will also take part in the gathering. Sindh and Azad Kashmir governments have announced public holiday on Saturday on occasion of ZAB death anniversary.

PPP co-chairperson and former president Asif Ali Zardari will address the main ceremony in Naudero.

Hundreds of thousands of Bhutto lovers including senior PPP leaders have started reaching Larkana, Naudero and Garhi Khuda Bux.

The day-long ceremonies, which have now been reduced owing to rains, in Garhi Khuda Bux will start with Qur’an Khawani at the mausoleum of the PPP founder on Saturday morning.
