Rangers arrest MQM coordination committee member in Karachi

KARACHI: Rangers officials have arrested another member of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) coordination committee Izhar Ahmed Khan on Tuesday, ARY News reported.

As per the details, Izhar Ahmed Khan has been arrested from Federal B. Area in Karachi when he was visiting another party member.

Senior MQM leaders have also confirmed that Rangers have taken MQM’s Izhar Ahmed Khan into their custody from the residence of another coordination committee Abdul Haseeb in Federal B. Area.

Izhar Ahmed Khan was at Abdul Haseeb’s residence in Karachi to inquire about his health, they said.

After the arrest, he has been taken to an unknown location, ARY News confirmed.

Earlier on March 21, Rangers had taken MQM’s Shahid Pasha from his residence in Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of Karachi who was later released in May.

The paramilitary force had produced him before an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) from where he was sent into Rangers’ custody on a 90-day remand.

Rangers, however, had released Shahid Pasha before the expiry of the remand.
