Rangers begin probe into PIA workers killing

KARACHI: The investigation team of Rangers has begun probe into killing of two Pakistan International Airline (PIA) workers during their violent protest last week, ARY News reported.

The team today visited the protest site to collect evidences.

Couple of days ago, DG Rangers Sindh Major General Bilal Akbar had met PIA Joint Action Committee head Captain Sohail Baloch.

He had assured the PIA leader that fair investigation would be conducted into killing of PIA workers and whosoever found responsible for the murder would be brought to justice.

Baloch had also requested the DG Rangers to probe ‘mysterious disappearance’ of four PIA workers from Karachi.

The Pakistan International Airline (PIA) employees were killed and several more wounded at Karachi’s international airport on Feb 2 when clashes broke out between security forces and staff, though authorities denied opening fire.

Police on Saturday registered a case against one federal cabinet minister, a senator, a former advisor to Sharif and two airline officials on the complaint of PIAemployees’ Joint Action Committee, accusing them of murder and torture
