Rangers called in to control Lahore situation

LAHORE: In view of increasing violence due to protest at Ferozepur Road, Pakistan Rangers has been called in to bring the situation under control, ARY News reported.

According to details, 15 people were initially injured in clashes with police after thousands of protesters took to the Ferozepur Road against Lahore church attacks and resorted to violence.

Two of the injured were later reported to succumb to their injuries.

The protesters wielding batons vandalized public property and clashed with police, they also pelted stones at the cops.

The administration, witnessing the situation getting out of control, employed water cannons to disperse enraged protesters.

Moreover, Pakistan Rangers was also called in along with fresh contingents of police to bring the situation under control.
