Babar criticized Rangers for asserting that ‘corruption worth Rs 230 billion is yearly taking place in Karachi’, that too after two years since the paramilitary force was given police powers in Karachi.

“Rangers briefing and report to the Sindh Apex Committee is in fact an admission of its failure,” said the PPP lawmaker.

“Whether the Sindh Rangers is incompetent or having a nexus with mafias?” Farhatullah Babar questioned while calling for investigations into it.

The motion will come under discussion in the Senate from Wednesday.
