Rangers kill two terror suspects in Karachi encounter

KARACHI: The law enforcement agencies in a crackdown after yesterday’s terrorist attack killed at least two suspected terrorists in a shootout at Karachi’s Northern Bypass.

The rangers in a statement on Wednesday said the paramilitary force on an intelligence tip conducted a surgical operation against the hideouts of suspected terrorists. The terrorists opened fire at the paramilitary force and in retaliatory fire of Rangers personnel two armed men were killed.

The identities of the two fallen terrorists being ascertained who were involved in killings of law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) personnel, the Rangers statement said.

Police killed a robber in an encounter when two armed men were looting a passerby in the jurisdiction of Pirabad police station.

The personnel of Couner Terrorism Department and SSU conducted a targeted operation in Ittehad Town early morning today and detained three terror suspects.

Police arrested 35 suspects in a crackdown in Saddar area of Karachi.
