Rangers raid MQM MNA's restaurant

KARACHI: Paramilitary Rangers raided the restaurant in Clifton, owned by MQM MNA Ali Raza Abidi and detained three people, including a relative of the restaurant’s owner, ARY News reported.

The Rangers reportedly detained three men and thoroughly searched the premises. Ali Raza Abidi was not present in the restaurant at the time of the raid.

Senator Nasreen Jaleel and Fauzia Hameed MNA reached to the restaurant after the raid.

Abidi said that one of the detained men was his cousin, Hasan Raza. He added that the Rangers also confiscated a computer and some files.

MQM Chief Altaf Hussain and the party’s Rabita committee have condemned the raid, calling it an act of vengeance by the Rangers.

Altaf Hussain said that the Rangers have not been legally authorized to conduct such acts.
