Rangers round up 70 suspects in raids after personnel’s killing

The raids were conducted in Safoora Goth, Khokhra Par, Shah Faisal Colony, Frontier Colony, Azam Basti, Moosa Colony, Nazimabad, Korangi, Muzaffarabad Colony, Sohrab Goth and Abul Hassan Isphahani Road.

The arrested suspects included members of banned outfits, target killers linked with a political party and extortionists.

Officials also seized weapons from a number of suspects.

Late on Friday night, paramilitary personnel gunned down four suspected terrorists after a shootout. The deceased were said to be involved in attacks on security forces and other heinous crimes.

A Rangers man was also wounded in the exchange of gunfire.

Earlier to that, on Friday morning, unknown attackers had shot four Rangers personnel dead in Ittehad Town.

The attack came as one of the major incidents involving security personnel in past few days, following which the Rangers expedited its raids against terrorists and criminals.
