Rangers took 8 in custody from different areas of Karachi

The arrested suspects also included two extortionists and two members of a banned outfit, said the spokesperson while giving additional details about the suspects.

According to the Rangers official, the recent raids were held in Orangi Town, Korangi, Baldia, Gulberg and Shah Faisal areas of Karachi during which the arrests were made.

Three of the arrested persons belonged to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) while two others were members of a banned group, claimed the spokesperson and added that weapons and bullets were also recovered from their possession.

In another overnight search operation in the famous PIB Colony in Karachi, police officials claimed to have apprehended more than 30 suspects.

They said a majority of the detained persons were drug addicts.

Police officials were of the view that they were interrogating the arrested persons after they recovered weapons and mobiles from them.
