Rani Mukherjee meets with the British Royal couple

Rani Mukherjee acted in Mardaani a 2014 crime thriller which was a hit at the box office collecting 66 crore rupees. It is the story of a female police officer who goes by the name of Shivani Shivaji Roy who is astoundingly brave in apprehending criminals. Shivani rescues a kidnapped girl from a gang and then resolves to rid the society of girl trafficking. She beats up hardened criminals, chases them in alleys and interrogates her suspects, always daunting in the faces of her adversaries.
Rani Mukherjee was lauded for her efforts by the royal couple in portrayal of her role as someone who stood up female trafficking. Her movie was also granted tax free status in Maharashtra on account of it promoting a positive message.
The dinner was held on February 3rd and was organized by the British Asian Trust, an organization that seeks to alleviate the status of and eradicate poverty concerns of South Asians. The British Asian Trust was founded by Prince Charles himself in 2007 and actively endeavors to address poverty and adversity among South Asians. Through its charity events and brand ambassadors, the British Asian Trust has raised enough funds to affect the lives of 1.5 million South Asians.
