Rasheed follows PTI, files reference against PM Nawaz

ISLAMABAD: After Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Shaikh Rasheed Ahmed led Awami Muslim League (AML) has also submitted a reference seeking Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification.

AML, in the reference, has stated that Nawaz Sharif is not eligible to become the prime minister under the Article 62 and 63 of the constitution.

Article 62 and 63 of the constitution states that a person has to be Sadiq and Ameen (honest and truthful) in order to become the prime minister of the country.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday had filed another reference in National Assembly to seek disqualification of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Shireen Mazari and other lawmakers of PTI had submitted a reference comprising of 200 pages to National Assembly (NA) Speaker Ayaz Sadiq.

PTI had filed a reference in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on June 24 as well to seek disqualification of the prime minister.
