Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif on Friday said that before sacking One Day International captain Azhar Ali, those should be sacked who appointed him as the captain in the first place.

Rashid Latif also shared a video on his social media account in which he had predicted in April 2015 that Azhar will not turn out to be a successful captain.

Since 2015, Pakistan won only 12 ODIs under his captaincy out of 29 matches. Pakistan also lost its recent ODI series 4-1 against Australia which ended on 26th with a 57-runs defeat.

Rumours are doing rounds that Azhar Ali is likely to be removed as Pakistan’s ODI captain after his side lost the series in Australia 4-1.

Rashid has served as head coach of Pakistan in 2016.

It is pertinent to note here that International Cricket Council (ICC) too has suspended Azhar Ali for one match after Pakistan’s slow over rate during the fifth ODI against Australia in Adelaide on Sunday. Azhar will miss Pakistan’s first ODI in the series against West Indies in April.
