England player Ravi Bopara slams BBC for Amir stereotyping

Pakistan star left-arm pacer Muhammad Amir impressed every cricket fan with his remarkable comeback bowling performance against Somerset in England. One such fan was also a English player Ravi Bopara who took exception to his own national media for stereotyping the bowler’s performance.

The British Broadcasting Corporation dubbed Amir ‘spot-fixer’ in its headline that apparently drew ire of Bopara, who slammed the channel’s coverage in his tweet.

He also used hashtag ‘#Muppet’ to describe the BBC stereotyping for Amir.

Bopara is one the finest all-rounders of England team. He has represented his team in 120 One Day Internationals, 38 Twenty20 Internationals and 11 Test matches.

He was also featured in the Karachi Kings franchise of Pakistan Super League and was a star performer for his team.
