Rawalpindi: Police Post attacked, three cops injured

RAWALPINDI: Three policemen on Tuesday injured in a grenade attack at police picket in Rawalpindi, while the attacker blew up his explosives when chased by other policemen, ARY News reported.

The policemen in Wah Garden area of Rawalpindi checking a bus from Peshawar when a suspected man hurled grenade at the police picket and tried to escape from the vehicle. Three policemen were injured in grenade attack, police sources said.

Other policemen when chased the attacker he detonated his explosives.

According to police sources, the bus was stopped at the picket after an intelligence report about presence of explosives in the vehicle.

The rescue teams rushed to the crime scene and transferred the injured policemen to hospital.

A few days ago 3500 bogus national identity cards were also found from the same area and there were reports about presence of the supporters of terrorists in the locality.
