Reports of PM'S deadline for polio eradication false: spokesperson

ISLAMABAD: The spokesperson of the Prime Minister House on Thursday clarified that the PM Nawaz Sharif had not given any time-frame to eradicate polio from the country, ARY News reported.

In a statement, the spokesperson said that the Prime Minister had expressed his resolve for early eradication of polio, however he did not specify any deadline for the commitment to stamp out polio menace from the country.

The PM yesterday (Wednesday) chaired a meeting of the National Task Force on Polio Eradication with chief ministers of all four provinces in attendance.

He called upon all chief ministers to make the initiative a priority and personally monitor anti-polio drives, while also ensuring complete security for vaccinators.
