Reserve Police Deputy Commandant injured, two killed in Peshawar attack

PESHAWAR: Two policemen killed and five others including Deputy Commandant of Frontier Reserve Police (FRP) were injured in a suicide attack in Peshawar’s Hayatabad area on Thursday morning, ARY News reported.

A suicide bomber rammed his motorbike with the car of Deputy Commandant of FRP Tariq Malik in Hayatabad, who was heading to his office from home. Two policemen were killed in suicide attack over the vehicle of Tariq Malik, who was injured along with three others.

The injured were transferred to the Hayatabad Medical Complex of Peshawar.

The motorbike rider had worn a suicide jacket carrying six to eight kilogrammes of explosives, AIG bomb disposal unit has said.

Peshawar, the main city in Pakistan’s northwest, adjacent to the country’s troubled tribal region bordering Afghanistan.
