Route of PIA flight changed to facilitate VIPs

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight scheduled to fly directly from Karachi to Islamabad had to stop at Sukkur out of the way to leave two Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders at the airport in northern Sindh, citing sources ARY News reported.

Sources said that PIA flight PK-368, which is a direct flight from Karachi to Islamabad, but it had to land at Sukkur to facilitate PPP’s leader of opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah and Sindh minister Manzoor Wassan to reach the city.

The flight then left for Islamabad after off-loading the two political figures. PK-368 landed at 2:30 PM at Islamabad airport-one hour and 35 minutes late from its schedule.

Earlier, the passengers traveling in the flight protested after the announcement regarding the change in the route.

The passengers said that they paid the fares for traveling to Islamabad not Sukkur and they will face time delays due to the change in the route of the flight.
