ISLAMABAD: Fists flew in country’s National Assembly on Thursday after two lawmakers from opposition and government benches slapped each other after an argument over Panama papers case against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s family, ARY News reported.

According to ARY News correspondent, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) legislator Shah Mehmood Qureshi was speaking on a privilege motion against the PM for allegedly lying to parliament over Panama papers issue when government and opposition lawmakers started chanting slogans against each other.

The sloganeering soon turned into a full-scale brawl after PTI member Shahryar Afridi and Minister for Petroleum & Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi reportedly slapped each other.

The speaker adjourned the session for 15 minutes after the ruckus.

The ARY News correspondent added that the opposition demanded audience for five of its bench members but speaker was of the view that PML-N bench members too should be allowed to speak on the matter.
