LAHORE: President of Pakistan People Party (PPP) – Punjab Qamar Zaman Kaira has called for a crackdown against banned outfits across Punjab, ARY News reported on Monday.

Speaking to media in Lahore, Kaira claimed that Rangers should carry out crackdowns against the terrorist groups who have the backing of our rulers.

He also said that our rulers are not willing to stand up against terrorism and the country’s judiciary, military, media and political parties are concerned over the non-implementation of National Action Plan (NAP).

Kaira said he believed that the curse of terrorism would not have inflicted the country had the government genuinely supported the military. He added that terrorist organizations are nurtured by the government.

He said that rulers are keeping links with leaders of banned groups whereas the security forces of the country are giving countless sacrifices.

Kaira announced that the party’s public meeting scheduled to take place in Lahore on 23rd February 2017 has been postponed due to security reasons.
