SA passes resolution against Shikarpur Imambargah Attack

KARACHI: Members of the Sindh Assembly (SA) passed a resolution condemning the attack on Shikarpur Imambargah on Friday, which claimed the lives of at least 60 people, ARY News reports.

SA Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani chaired the session of the house on Monday.

The members from opposition parties criticized the provincial government over the delay in relief activities for the victims.

Opposition leader Shehryar Mehr said that Shikarpur is a target of terrorist activities since 2010. He added that unity is needed to tackle the ongoing circumstances.

Imtiaz Sheikh from Pakistan Muslim League – Functional (PML-F) said that it was disappointing that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif did not contact the victims despite being in Karachi on the day of the attack.

He appealed the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo-moto notice and order judicial inquiry of the incident.
