There are many drawbacks to working in a movie with your wife, according to Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan.
Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan have worked together in Bollywood films. The movie Qurban comes to mind, when we talk about the Saifeena duo onscreen. However, the film failed to impress at the box office and bombed on release.
In an interview, Saif was asked the reason to why his and Kareena Kapoor’s films did not succeed. The actor complimented his wife as a lovely actress but also said that working with one’s own wife could be monotonous.
“It is never a great idea to work with your wife now. You have to choose. It’s nice to come home and live with her and work with other people. At least that way there will be a certain amount of freshness in both your personal and professional life. Things might get monotonous otherwise,” said Saif.
“Some people just have a great chemistry onscreen while some don’t. May be it is in the script. Also the kind of films we did were ill-fated and they were slightly ill- conceived. There are many things that go into it. I think it is a shame because she is a lovely actress and I would love to work with her.”
Saif Ali Khan has been in the news recently, both in India and Pakistan, for his controversial remarks regarding Pakistan. Saif Ali Khan’s Phantom will be released today (August 28). Saif revealed how he had shown Kareena the film and his better half had actually appreciated the movie.
“Kareena has seen the movie and has really liked it but it’s hard to tell whether she is being supportive or not as with most people around us. Actually you just have to wait and see what the audience say. Nothing else is of any serious consequence. While it is encouraging when she says she likes it, I am only interested in what happens on Friday.”
