Sana Mir steps down as Pakistan’s T20 international captain

LAHORE: Pakistan women’s T20 skipper Sana Mir stepped down as captain of her side, ARY News reported.

She made her announcement after returning to the country with her side following her team’s exit from the World Twenty20 2016 in India.

Speaking to media, Mir said that she took the decision so that new talent steps forward and leads the side from the front.

Pakistan managed to beat India and Bangladesh in this year’s World Twenty20 under Mir’s leadership but was shown the door following losses to West Indies and England.

Commenting on the Lahore blast, she said that her whole side was deeply saddened by the tragedy.
