Saulat Mirza gets another lifeline

MACHH: Authorities at Machh prison Monday received the orders to delay the hanging of Saulat Mirza, following which the process of his execution was stopped, ARY News reported.

According to details, jail authorities had finalized arrangements for sending the notorious killer to gallows, as per black warrants earlier issued after a delay of three days in his execution.

President Mamnoon Hussain upon the advice of PM Nawaz Sharif had again delayed the execution for a month, however the jail authorities received no formal letter in this regard and were all prepared to execute Saulat Mirza on April 1[tomorrow].

However, officials at the Machh prison on Monday evening received the copy of presidential orders to postpone the hanging, following which the execution was stopped.
