Saulat Mirza’s execution postponed for a month

ISLAMABAD: The execution of death row prisoner Saulat Mirza has been postponed for a period of 30 days, ARY News reported.

A notification in this regard will be released in couple of days.

Sources in the Interior Ministry told that a committee has also been constituted to record statement of Mirza. The committee will comprise provincial and federal ministers

Saulat Mirza’s sentence could be converted into life imprisonment if he agreed to become prosecution witness in the case.

Mirza was due to be hanged on Thursday morning in Machh Jail, Balochistan. However his execution was postponed for three days following his startling revelations against MQM through a video tape from prison.

The Interior Ministry cited health reasons of Mirza for delay in his hanging.
