Scrutiny of nomination papers for Senate election begins

ISLAMABAD: The scrutiny of nomination papers of the candidates for Senate election began on Thursday, ARY News reported.

According to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the scrutiny of 184 nomination papers filed for 52 seats of the upper house will be completed in two days.

Candidates could file their appeals against rejection of nomination papers with the Secretary Election Commission or Provincial Election Commissioner concerned on February 23 and 24. The appeals will be disposed of on February 26 and 27.

The last date for withdrawal of the candidature is February 28 and final list of the contesting candidates will be displayed on the same date.
