Security forces gun down seven terrorists

MOHMAND AGENCY: Security forces on Saturday killed seven militants in a clash in Tehsil Yakaghund of Mohmand Agency, ARY News reported.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the security forces traced the movement of the terrorists in Yakaghund tehsil of Mohmand Agency. The forces in a clash with the militants killed seven insurgents.

No security personnel was injured in the clash, ISPR added.

ISPR further stated that the bodies of the killed terrorists have been handed over to the local administration.

Pakistan’s military has launched an offensive, codenamed ‘Operation Zarb-e-Azb’ against militants in the tribal region of the country after failure of talks with the militants and terrorist attack on Karachi airport in June last year.

The campaign against terrorists stepped up to a new level after a terrorist attack on Army Public School in Peshawar on December 16, last year, in which 150 people most of them schoolchildren were killed.

Pakistan’s government has started implementation on the National Action Plan against terrorism after the Peshawar school attack.
