Security of sit-ins cost govt additional Rs 640m: Dar

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar told the National Assembly on Thursday that government paid additional Rs 640.55 million to law enforcement agencies for security of sit-ins, ARY News reported.

According to details, the minister said foreign investments were reduced by 8.2% owing to sit-ins in the country.

After payment of foreign debts, he said, loss of billions of rupees in investments was inflicted.

Besides, details for finances under anti-terrorism measures were also tabled in the lower house. The details said the Rs 220 billion were released for anti-terrorism measures in the country.
