Security to polio teams reportedly withdrawn in Balochistan

QUETTA: The Health Department in Balochistan has expressed grave concerns over safe keeping of polio vaccinators after the police reportedly withdrew security to the team, ARY News reported.

The health department said police security had been withdrawn without any information.

On the other hand, Police spokesperson has denied the claim, saying the security to polio team had not been withdrawn.

Atleast 24,75,616 children are to be inoculated anti-polio drops in the province with the collaboration of Health Department Balochistan and Donor departments.

It is learnt that over 6,500 teams are taking part in the campaign which will immunize drops to children at various spots like airports, railway stations and bus stands.
