Sehwan Attack: Agencies widen probe, arrest dozens suspects

SEHWAN: The law enforcement agencies have widen the scope of the investigation of the terrorist attack at a Sufi shrine in Sehwan, ARY News reported on Monday.

Dozens of suspects have been detained from northern parts of Sindh in scores of search operations, law enforcement sources said.

The investigation agencies have widen the scope of the probe of the attack on Sehwan’s Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s shrine, which claimed more than 80 lives of the devotees including women and children.

Sindh government has also ordered crackdown in the areas bordering Balochistan, sources said.

Chief Minister of Sindh has directed the officials for raids in Kashmore, Kandhkot, Jacobabad and Shikarpur districts to arrest the terrorists and their facilitators.

Two alleged facilitators of Sehwan attack, Munir Jamali and Uzair Jamali, have been detained from Juhi tehsil of Dadu district.

More than 70 suspects have been detained in various raids in the areas adjoining to Sehwan.

Police and Rangers in a combing operation in Larkana arrested over 20 suspects, while four suspected persons were arrested in Ghotki district.

Police has arrested five suspects from Tharparkar district, while six hotel owners have been also detained for providing hotel space without entry in record.

Moreover, intelligence agencies have detained 15 suspects from Jamshoro and transferred them to undisclosed location for questioning, sources added.
