Senator Azam Khan Hoti passes away

PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) Senator Azam Khan Hoti 69, died in Peshawar after protracted illness on Wednesday, ARY News reported.

Hoti was born in Mardan in 1946. He was a popular political figure in his native area.

Azam Khan Hoti, a seasoned politician was father of former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti and brother of Senior ANP leader Begum Naseem Wali Khan.

Hoti was elected a Member of National Assembly (MNA) twice and served as federal minister for communication.

Late Senator Azam Khan Hoti was also elected as a senator twice in 1993 and 2012 on an ANP ticket.

The funeral of late Senator will take place at his native village in Mardan today.
