In order to construct a parking plaza inside the Sindh Assembly premises, 11 servant quarters were razed here on Saturday leaving the residents in sheer dismay.

Neither any accommodation nor any financial compensation was provided to the residents before forcing them to leave their houses, not even a prior notice was issued asking them to leave the quarters.

The residents also got raged over ‘false reporting’ by a private TV channel that claimed that the ‘quarters were being used to tie buffaloes’.

They said that they are sitting under the open sky with their children, having not enough money to rent a house.

The evicted masses said they were living in these quarters for past 20 years and worked at the assembly, yet they were not located elsewhere by the authorities nor compensated.
