Several hurt as MQM, PTI workers clash in Karachi

KARACHI: Workers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday clashed with each other in Karachi resulting in wounding of several activists, ARY News reported.

PTI and MQM were taking out rallies with regard to NA-245 by-election that raged activists from both sides chanted slogans and pelted stones at each other near Karachi’s Five Star roundabout.

As a consequence, several activists from both sides were injured. The pelting of rocks also shattered windscreens of passing by vehicles.

Meanwhile, some miscreants resorted to aerial firing amid clash.

Additional police contingents were deployed in the vicinity following the incident, while the PTI election camp at Five Star roundabout was also closed down.
