Several hurt in fresh clashes in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Several persons including police officers were injured in clashes at Red Zone area of Islamabad on Monday (today), ARY News reports.

Police started firing tear gas shells at the protesters at Margalla Road near Pakistan Secretariat. The protesters, in retaliation, tried to stop the cops.

Sources said that police fired tear gas shells and rubber bullets during the clash. The protesters threw the shells back at the cops.

They also chanted slogans against the Police.

The series of sporadic clashes continue in Islamabad. It should be noted that a mob stormed the building of Pakistan Television (PTV) earlier this morning due to which the transmission of the PTV News and PTV World was suspended.

Pakistan Army and Rangers arrived at the scene and vacated the building of the state run channel.
