Security forces launched a search operation in the city during which the militants opened fire at them. Three terrorists were killed in the retaliatory fire by the forces.
The operation was launched after the killing of local peace committee member named Ayub.
Large amount of weapons were recovered from the slain militants.
It should be noted that several militants were killed in airstrikes at Khyber Agency and Datta Khel tribal areas by security forces.
