What’s more surprising than Khan’s rejection of starring in a film opposite Jackie Chan is the fact that he might do one with Salman Khan!
According to an inside source which revealed to Indian website NDTV.com, Yash Raj boss Aditya Chopra has successfully managed the casting coup and decided to direct the two Khans in Bollywood. This was revealed by the inside source:-
“It is the same film for which Ranveer Singh was earlier being considered. Adi felt that the Shah Rukh-Salman combo would work wonders at the box-office and so, decided to sign Salman instead of Ranveer. Shah Rukh has already given his nod to him.”
The source further also revealed that both Khans were thrilled about the prospect of reuniting on-screen and a female lead was to be selected.
“The script is ready and both the superstars have liked it. However, the female lead is yet to be finalized. The details will be revealed when Adi decides to make an official announcement. But as of now, both the actors seem enthused about their on-screen reunion,” adds the source.
Shah Rukh reportedly was approached to star in a movie which also had Hollywood superstar Jackie Chan (who so happens to be the second highest paid actor in the world). However, SRK rejected the film offer, since he did not want to play a character which was not as important in the film as Chan’s.
Maybe Shah Rukh Khan might have put more thought into the matter, After all, the last time he was offered to play a role in a Hollywood film, was for Slumdog Millionaire. Not only did the movie went on to bag multiple Oscars, but also enabled Anil Kapoor to star in a film opposite Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise.
