Shah slams govt over high power tariff

TOP NEWS

The opposition leader strongly criticized the government during today’s session of the National Assembly. He said that during our tenure petrol prices were high, while electricity was cheaper, yet today petrol is cheaper and power tariff is much higher.

He termed the recent petrol crisis as ‘governance failure’, adding that the Ministry of Finance did not release funds, which intensified the crisis.

Shah said that the government may not get a clean chit by suspending a few bureaucrats.

“in our tenure petrol price in the international market had reached to $120 per barrel, while the per unit electricity cost was Rs 7.90, yet today same electricity unit costs almost Rs 13 despite the fact that oil prices have gone down to $45”, the opposition leader added.
