He was speaking at the 5th Halal Meat Conference where he said that Pakistan was the tenth largest producer of livestock and dairy development. However, its contribution to the global livestock industry valued at $1 trillion was negligible, which is a moment of grave concern for scientists, officials and investors in the dairy livestock industry.
He said the Punjab Assembly will soon adopt a bill to establish a halal meat authority.
He reminded that addressing the energy crisis was the foremost priority under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and that power plants established would start producing electricity from next year across the country. It would be unfortunate if there is lack of investment despite the presence of surplus electricity.
After the inauguration ceremony, the Chief Minister also visited an exhibition on livestock and dairy development.
