Shahbaz was addressing a police gathering at Badian Road where he said that they will not allow anyone to take the law in their own hands whether they belong to the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) or any other party.
This comes as stick-wielding force has been formed of the PML-N and the PTI which have threatened to hurl eggs and tomatoes at each other during the march. A group calling itself the ‘Janisar-e-Nawaz Sharif’ or the defenders of Nawaz Sharif has also announced a cash reward for anyone attacking Imran Khan.
Sharif also announced the promote constables from Grade 5 to Grade 7, head constables from Grade 7 to Grade 9, and Assistance Superintendent Police (ASI) from Grade 9 to Grade 11. He also announced to increase the monetary compensation of low-level police officers who have lost their lives from Rs5 to Rs10 million.
He also lashed out at the PTI said that those who attempted to stop the visit of the Chinese President in 2014 were still spreading chaos and anarchy in the country by staging rallies and sit-ins across the country. He vowed to form a separate police unit to protect those working on the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project in Punjab.
