The all-rounder also thanked PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for providing him with the opportunity to captain the team in all three formats of the game.
Afridi also laid to rest all speculations that he was retiring when he said that he would continue to play T20 cricket.
“I would also like to inform that I intend to continue to play the game for my country and league game cricket etc,” his statement, which was included in his tweet, read.
Afridi also requested his fans to continue to pray for his future performances for Pakistan.
