Shahid Kapoor is on a high, after being happily married to the beautiful Mira Rajput. He is also busy shooting for his flick Udta Punjab, in which he stars beside Bollywood beauties Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt.
However, the Bollywood superstar failed to impress fans when he posted a selfie on India’s Independence Day. As most Bollywood superstars were busy posting salute selfies on August 15, Shahid Kapoor decided to do the same. Shahid also posted a salute selfie, which upset the Indian masses. The reason, you ask? Shahid Kapoor posted a selfie in which he and Aditi Rao Hydari are seen to be saluting with the left hand!
The act attracted much controversy and criticism from the Indian public, who became angry at Shahid’s gesture. Comments such as “Never salute with left hand, its wrong,” “Salute always wit right hand wit left u insulting hero’s”, “Madam right hand se salute karte hai..left se nhi (sic)” started appearing beneath the picture.

Shahid Kapoor should have taken care, after all, everyone salutes with the right hand! Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Sonaksi Sinha, Team India (ODI) captain MS Dhoni also posted their salute selfies. Shahid Kapoor and Aditya Rao Hydari’s salute selfies backfired. Talk about a tribute going wrong!
