Earlier, media was abuzz with the gossip that the Jab We Met star had become engaged to college-going Indian girl Mira Rajput. However, sources close to Mira (her friend) denied the information and quoted her as saying that they were just family friends.
Yet Shahid answered the question that had been hounding everyone’s minds since this week whether the star intends on getting married or not? Well, Shahid answered it quite unambiguously with the following statement:-
“No, I am not engaged but what you are reading is kind of true as marriage is on the cards at the end of the year.”
When he was asked as to what was so special about Mira which caught his eye, Shahid refused to divulge into details. “I’ll refrain from getting into details. I hope you respect that. I’m here today and I thought it was important for me to acknowledge it in front of the media. Other than that I’m just a normal guy, she’s just a normal girl and we should treat it like that. I’m very happy.”
Little is known about Mira except from the fact that her family has been in acquaintance with Shahid Kapoor’s and the two met through a religious gathering. Also, Mira is in her third year in college and is only a student. Shahid Kapoor had earlier dated Kareena Kapoor in a well publicized affair which ended bitterly for Shahid when the actress chose to marry Saif Ali Khan instead. Shahid has also been romantically linked to actress Priyanka Choppra in the past. The actor was acknowledged recently for his outstanding performance in Haider and is currently filming Udta Punjab.
We wish Shahid Kapoor good luck in his quest to marry Mira Rajput. For now, the two seem to be keeping quiet about details concerning Mira yet when her marriage date approaches, I’m sure there’s more we can share about her!
