They were dropped from the team to serve as a exemplary example and he had backed this decision of chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq.

He hoped that bowler Muhammad Amir will not have any trouble in issuance of visa and it will be granted without any hassle.

He said that new head coach Mickey Arthur has asked for a Pakistani to be the assistant coach. However, they will not appoint Mushtaq Ahmed for the position. The decision will be made after mutual consultation and discussion.

Shehryar strongly dismissed the speculations that he was resigning from the post. He said that he is going to England for a vacation. The rumors that powers of the chairman were being taken from him are completely baseless and unfounded.

He said that he was the first elected chairman of the PCB. However, he said that the decision whether he will stay as chairman will be made in August.

Shehryar announced the appointment of Australian Shawn Haines as the new physiotherapist for the team.

He announced that a cricket academy will be built in Karachi soon which will be inaugurated by Governor Sindh Ishrat-ul-Ebad.
