Memon took the decision after consulting his legal team, according to sources. However, the exact date of his return has not been revealed.
It is pertinent to mention here that Memon is currently facing charges of corruption worth Rs5 billion by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). His name was placed on the Exit Control List (ECL) but Memon had already left the country.
He had earlier expressed fears that he might be arrested upon arrival.
NAB authorities had claimed that they have enough evidence against him and will grill him upon return to the country. His plea seeking pre-arrest bail was dismissed by the Sindh High Court (SHC) in February as ‘non-maintainable’.
The Sindh High Court (SHC) had also dismissed his plea seeking pre-arrest bail as ‘non-maintainable’ in February, this year.
However, sources have now confirmed that he would be coming back to Pakistan in a few days.
