The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee held a meeting on Saturday, presided by the Chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman. Talking to media afterwards, Mufti Muneeb said the moon could not be sighted, while the committee also did not receive any testimony from across the country.

He said the 1st of Shabaan will be observed on May 09, whereas Shab-e-Barat will be observed at night preceding May22.

This leads to the possible start of the holy month of Ramazan from either June 07 or 08.
