Shawwal Moon sighted, Eid-ul-Fitr to be observed tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: Eid-ul-Fitr in Pakistan will be observed on Saturday, after the moon was sighted on Friday night.

Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman announced that Shawwal moon has sighted after chairing the meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal, held in Islamabad.

Regional Ruet-e-Hilal Committees were also met at their headquarters to gather evidence about sighting of the moon.

Testimonies of moon sighting were received from several cities including Kohat, Sibbi, Sukkur, Jacobabad and Pasni.

The meteorological department had already said that there are strong chances that moon will be seen today despite the overcast weather.

Various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province including Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera and Bannu districts had celebrated the Eid today.

Furthermore, Chaman in Balochistan had also observed Eid-ul-Fitr on Friday after the local moon sighting committee announced sighting of moon in the area on Thursday.
