SHC issues contempt notice to IG Sindh, two others

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court on Monday issued contempt notice to inspector general Sindh police and two other officers in a case pertaining to attack on journalists by masked policemen within the court premises, ARY News reported.

Masked cops had attacked mediamen on Saturday stationed outside the Sindh High Court as former provincial home minister appeared at the registrar’s office. Black masked commandos and heavy contingents were deployed outside the court who manhandled and tortured cameramen and reporters who were there to cover the court proceedings.

The contempt notices were issued to IG Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali, DIG and SSP South.

The court also restrained Additional IG Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thebo from continuing his work until further orders.
