SHC lifts stay on petitions against election tribunal orders

TOP NEWS

Justice Muneeb Akhtar of the SHC heading three-member bench issued these orders. The bench was hearing petitions filed by 13 complainants including the Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, seeking extension in stay orders.

The counsel for the CM, Farooq H. Naek had appealed extension in stay orders against the order of a tribunal which had ordered the National Database and Registration Authority to verify thumb impressions of voters on ballots in the constituencies won by Shah in the general elections 2013. However, the court rejected the verbal plea of Naek.

The SHC directed the election tribunal to take up all related cases as stay on petitions had been lifted.
